Loaves & Fishes — Summer Bring & Share

Every Sunday after the 10:30 AM Morning Service · June, July & August A little from everyone makes a big difference.

For years, Loaves & Fishes has been one of the most beloved parts of Sunday life at New Hope — a time to linger after worship, share good food, and grow deeper in friendship. This is where newcomers feel at home and our church family comes alive around the table. This summer we're keeping it simple and joyful. No cooking required — just bring a little something to add to the table. A bag of grapes. A box of crackers. A dozen muffins grabbed on the way in. When everyone brings just a little, something wonderful happens — just like the original miracle, a little offered with a willing heart goes a long way.

What to bring: Fresh fruit ·  Muffins or pastries ·  Cookies or squares ·  Cheese and crackers
Juice, coffee, and tea are provided.

Everyone plays a part — and that's what makes it beautiful. Loaves & Fishes is a family table, not a restaurant.
We ask that everyone who enjoys the meal also helps in one of these ways:
  • Bring something — even one small item feeds the whole spirit of this gathering
  • Help set up — arrive a few minutes early to arrange the table and lay out food
  • Help clean up — stay a few minutes after to wipe down tables, tidy up, and leave the fellowship hall clean and ready for the week ahead
Please note: No eating on the carpets or stairs.
Respecting our fellowship hall is part of respecting each other. A clean space is a gift to everyone who uses it.

A huge thank you to Elva and Glenora for their constant help with the food, and to Tony for always taking out the garbage — it’s greatly appreciated! We’re also so grateful to Brian T. and Margaret for coordinating Loaves & Fishes this year. To help them out and make the load much lighter, we’re doing this simple Bring & Share approach for the summer months.

Even one Sunday a month makes a difference. Whether you pour the coffee, bring the fruit, or sweep the floor — you are part of what makes this ministry thrive.

Want to help or coordinate? Email nhca4u@gmail.com to let us know what you’d like to bring or how you’d like to help. Even a quick note — “I’ll bring fruit this Sunday” — makes a world of difference in planning.

They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.” — Acts 2:46–47

New Hope Theatre

Marcia Anderson - Creator, Writer, and Director

Marcia Anderson founded New Hope Theater to offer children and youth something far more meaningful than ordinary basement crafts. Her heart’s desire is to plant the Word of God deeply into their hearts, souls, and spirits through the creative power of drama, music, dance, and performance—creating joyful childhood memories and faith-filled truths that will sustain them in hard times.

As a pregnant and struggling 17-year-old, Marcia received life-changing encouragement at Victoria Composite High School (now Victoria School of the Arts) in downtown Edmonton. Her Drama teacher, Lynda Adams — herself a former teenage mother who had dropped out of school — took Marcia under her wing, insisting she stay in school and continue contributing to the dance and drama programs. Her art teacher, David Morris, also believed in her talent and supported her in completing her full Grade 12 arts credits.

Thanks to their support, Marcia earned recognition for her all-around artistic achievement and, in her final year, was cast in the school’s production of the gospel musical
Godspell.
Though she lived a largely secular life for many years, the seeds planted through Godspell and her teachers remained.

A few years ago, family crises brought Marcia back into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit. Realizing how empty life feels without Him, she felt called to help children and teens hide God’s Word deep inside through rehearsal, practice, and meaningful performance—so those truths will rise up when they need them most.
Marcia is incredibly proud of the young people in the program, ages 8 to 18.

Many of the girls who have grown through New Hope Theater continue to return as volunteers and helpers, building strong friendships and connections. We warmly welcome parents, mentors, and volunteers who want to get involved.

It is our prayer that some of these talented young women may one day help lead and direct this growing ministry.
