A Prayer for Sister Eleanor

Heavenly Father, we lift up Sister Eleanor to You today, asking for Your complete and total restoration in her life — spirit, soul, and body. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You.

We pray for her physical health: that You would strengthen her body, bring healing to every area of weakness, and restore her to full vitality and strength, according to Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17 — "I will restore you to health and heal your wounds," declares the Lord.

We pray for her emotional health: that You would lift any weariness, anxiety, or discouragement, and fill her heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

And we pray for her spiritual health: that even in this season, she would feel Your presence near, draw close to You, and know without a doubt that she is held in Your hands (Psalm 34:18).

Lord, we thank You in advance for what You are doing in Eleanor's life. We declare Your healing over her — completely, in every way — and we ask that You would surround her with Your comfort and with the love and support of her church family in the meantime.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Remember to bring and share food for our Loaves & Fishes Summer Bring and Share Brunch, starting directly after the morning service.
Everyone plays a part — and that's what makes it beautiful. We ask that everyone who enjoys the meal also helps in one of these ways:

  • Bring something (even one small item helps!)
  • Help set up (arrive a few minutes early)
  • Help clean up (stay a few minutes after)

A MONTH OF LISTENING
God Is Ready to Speak to Those Who Are Willing to Listen

Pastor Alan shared a message on Sunday, August 2nd, based on Acts 15: God is ready to speak to those who are willing to listen. He handed out a form outlining 5 ways the Lord speaks to His people, with supporting Scriptures for each point, along with 3 prayer focuses for the church to hold — hopefully daily — throughout the month of August.

Pastor Alan invites everyone who was there that morning, and those joining online, to partner with NHC in praying daily for these needs. He's also asking everyone to write down the ways the Lord speaks to them throughout the month, and be willing to share this with Catherine and himself at the end of August. All the responses will then be gathered and shared with the whole church.

5 Ways God Speaks to Those Who Are Willing to Listen:

  1. Through Acts of God — Psalm 29:3-11; Romans 1:20
  2. Through the Voices of Trusted Servants — Acts 15:28; Proverbs 11:14
  3. Through His Word — Psalm 119:105; John 5:39
  4. Through His Holy Spirit — John 16:12-14; 1 Corinthians 2:9-10
  5. Through Divine Revelation — 2 Corinthians 12:1-4; Revelation 1:10-11

Application: Praying Together Through August
We're inviting everyone at NHC to pray throughout the month — for God to speak to you in any of the above 5 ways, and specifically:

  • For God's direction for NHC in the coming year in terms of outreach events
  • For wisdom and unity for the NHC Council and Leadership Team concerning financial decisions
  • For an increase in membership and in tithes and offerings, to help meet our increasing mortgage and other expenses

LOAVES & FISHES FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY — NEW SCHEDULE STARTS SEPTEMBER 6
View full details and schedule

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has stepped up to keep our Loaves & Fishes fellowship meal going strong. This ministry is such a gift to our church family — it's our time to sit together, share a meal, and simply be in one another's company. Whether through conversation, a helping hand in the kitchen, or quietly clearing tables, every act of service adds to the warmth of this time together, and we are so grateful for each of you.

Due to a few schedule changes, we've updated the volunteer rotation. Please take a moment to find your name and mark your calendar — full details, including the team schedule and serving guidelines, are on our website at the link above.

If you don't see your name on the list, we would love to have you join one of our five rotating teams! Many hands make this ministry light and joyful rather than a burden, and adding even one more person to a team makes a real difference. If you're willing to serve, please reach out to us at the church office — we'd be so thankful to have you.

Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone who gives their time and energy to this ministry. Loaves & Fishes is more than a meal — it's a place where our church family gathers, connects, and grows closer together. We couldn't do it without you.
