NHC Weekly Update - Week of September 21st, 2026

CONDOLENCES

Our hearts are heavy this week as we hold several families of our church in prayer.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Fred and Pat Wilton as they travel to say goodbye to Fred's sister, Barb, this weekend. "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). May they feel God's nearness and this church family's love as they grieve.

We also lift up Sean Khan and Robyn Civin, and their children, as they mourn the loss of Sean's step-father. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We pray for comfort for this family in the days ahead, and for peace that passes understanding to settle over their home.

And we surround Angie Stelter and Dr. Parry with love as they grieve the loss of Angie's father. "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me" (Psalm 23:4). May they know they do not walk this valley alone.

To all who are mourning this week — Jesus himself wept at the grave of a friend (John 11:35), and He understands sorrow intimately. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). We are here for you, and so is He: "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20).

Loaves & Fishes — Team 4 (Parry • Angie • Sabrina's Family) is serving the meal.
As both Fred and Marcia are away — and are the only September birthdays remaining — there will be no birthday cake this last week of September.

Team 1 also only has Tarrie on it, and we need more volunteers to join her team. Please email us and let us know if you can provide food on October 11th.

Please direct all Food Fellowship questions to Margaret, as she leads this ministry.

Please note that Marcia is on vacation from September 24th – October 2nd.

Elva Sneed left her air-fryer at the church, but now we can't find it. If you know where it's been squirrelled away or have seen it, please put it in the kitchen.

Pastor Catherine also left a crystal vase of much sentimental value — if you've seen it, please put it in the kitchen as well.
