Creative Conversations: A Healing Pathways Initiative
Facilitated by Dr. Martina Keast

  • Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: New Hope Church, 7625 89 Street NW, Edmonton
  • Based on principles from The Artist’s Way
  • Bring a journal
  • A welcoming space for creative expression, reflective writing, meaningful conversation, and personal growth
  • Tea and coffee provided
  • Suggested contribution: $10 (pay what you can)

Monday Evening Home Prayer Meeting

  • Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Location: Hussein Nyende & Ken Atahura’s home – 18231 80 Ave NW, Edmonton
  • Begins with praise songs followed by prayer needs for New Hope Church
  • Contact people in your area to invite them and arrange carpooling if needed

Saturday, May 9 (we have two events!)
Men’s & Women’s Connect Breakfast (Combined)

  • Time: 10:30 AM
  • Location: Freson Bros. Fresh Market – Rabbit Hill, 5139 Mullen Rd NW, Edmonton
  • Relaxed monthly gathering for faith-centered fellowship, good food, and conversation
  • Men at one table • Women at another
  • Bring a friend!
  • Note: This is Mother’s Day weekend — expect it to be busy. Arrive early.
  • All-You-Can-Eat Brunch: $30 per person
  • Moms can browse flowers and gifts afterward

Emotive Expressive Adventures
Facilitated by Dr. Martina Keast (Spiritual Wellness Coach & Expressive Arts Practitioner)

  • Time: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Location: New Hope Church, 7625 89 Street NW, Edmonton
  • Part of a gentle, trauma-informed 12-week creative healing program for survivors of sexual abuse and/or traumatic life events
  • Safe space for healing through art, reflection, and connection
  • Recommended contribution: $30/session (minimum $10)

Sunday, May 10 – Mother’s Day
Special Mother’s Day Celebration

  • After the morning service (approx. 12 Noon)
  • Location: New Hope Church Fellowship Hall
  • The men of the church (led by Pastor Alan Pysar) will cook and clean so the women can relax
  • Pastor Catherine Pysar will hand out beautiful roses to all the moms
  • Come as you are!

Riding the Waves of Grief & Trauma

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Location: New Hope Church, 7625 89 Street NW, Edmonton
  • With Dr. Rev Parry Stelter and keynote speakers: Jeremiah Damir Bašurić (Pastor) and Mark Taylor (Cree Flutist)
  • Free event – Lunch provided

NHC Spring Cleanup & Planting Day

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: New Hope Church grounds
  • Planting new arrangements, tidying flower beds, raking leaves, and general spring cleanup
  • Dr. Parry and Pat will handle the entrance pots
  • Fred and a helper will re-install siding
  • Possible light bulb installation (seeking ladder help from I Am Blessed)
  • Everyone welcome — come for as long as you can!
  • Bring gloves if you have them
  • Refreshments provided
  • Older kids welcome to help

Shelvis’s Karaoke Night (Debut!)
Hosted by Sean Khan (SHELVIS)

  • Time: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Location: New Hope Church
  • Fun, high-energy, family-friendly evening of singing and laughter
  • Suggested donation: $5 minimum (cash appreciated)
  • Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase
  • Fundraising night for the church
